PROF JEAN MORKEL

Prof Jean Morkel is a dual-qualified specialist in dentistry and medicine who has been practicing as a Maxillofacial and Oral Surgeon since 1995. With nearly three decades of clinical expertise, he specialises in a comprehensive range of procedures, including:

As the former head of Maxillofacial and Oral Surgery departments at both Stellenbosch University and the University of the Western Cape (1998-2024), Prof Morkel brings exceptional academic credentials to our collaborative practice.
He holds numerous qualifications including BChD, MBChB, MChD-Cum Laude (Stellenbosch University), and FCMFOS-SA.
Prof Morkel’s distinguished career encompasses over 40 scientific publications, more than 190 presentations, and the supervision of over 30 specialist students. His contribution to the field of maxillofacial surgery has significantly advanced treatment protocols and surgical techniques.
