WHAT TO EXPECT
AT YOUR FIRST VISIST
Your consultation is the first step in developing a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs. During this appointment:

HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PROCEDURE
Proper preparation can contribute to a smooth procedure and recovery. Prior to your treatment:
Follow all fasting instructions if sedation or general anaesthesia is planned for your procedure.
Arrange for someone to accompany you and drive you home if sedation is involved.
Maintain good oral hygiene leading up to your treatment to reduce the risk of infection in recovery.
Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption leading up to your procedure, as this affects healing.
Guidance for a
Smooth Recovery
Proper aftercare is essential to promote healing, reduce the risk of complications, and ensure the best possible outcome. Dr Fakir will provide you with detailed, procedure-specific instructions after your surgery. However, the following general guidelines will apply:
Pain & Swelling
- Take prescribed pain relief as directed.
- Apply cold compresses for the first 24 hours.
- Keep your head elevated to reduce swelling.
Wound Care
- Brush carefully, avoiding the surgical site.
- Rinse with warm salt water (if advised) from 24 hours after surgery.
- Avoid disturbing stitches until cleared by Dr Fakir.
Eating & Drinking
- Stick to soft, cool foods for the first few days.
- Avoid hot foods, spicy meals, or anything that requires excessive chewing.
- Stay hydrated but avoid using straws.
Activity and Rest
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heavy lifting, or bending over, as this can increase bleeding and swelling.
- Plan to take time off work or daily responsibilities as advised by Dr Fakir.
